The 2019 match will mark Soldier Field for the third time as the host of final games. The Soldier Field will be hosting Gold Cup Matches for the sixth time like done so in 2007 and 2013.
CONCACAF will expand the field from 12 teams to 16 teams and choose fourteen other U.S. venues to host the match, including the Caribbean and Central America. The teams that participated in the final qualifying round of World Cup 2018 will automatically qualify for the 2019 Gold Cup. Six teams that already joining the 2019 Gold Cup based on the result of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying, and for the remaining teams, their performance will be qualified by CONCACAF. This competition will be playing in the official FIFA match in September, October, and November 2019. As for the final championship will take on March 2020.

The top four teams in CONCACAF regions, which are Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, and The United States, will be in separate groups. The remaining two sides, Trinidad and Tobago and Panama will be joining the other ten teams who will qualify by the CONCACAF Nation League. The first six teams will be participating in League A, the next 16 groups will joining to League B, and the last 12 teams will qualifying for League C. This qualifying phase will take time from 6 September 2018 to 26 March 2019. After the association was done observing all the teams, they will announce the complete groups and schedule in early 2019.
